Print+Digital Subscriptions
It’s official, after many years as a digital only literary magazine, we shipped our first print magazine subscriptions to people’s homes! Who is subscribing? Professors, writers, parents, and thoughtful people who support civilized discourse.
Right now, the print+digital option is $12.95/month, and a few people have asked why it isn’t cheaper. I mean, heck, People is practically free at the grocery store. So, here are the reasons.
No ads. Not a single one. And this is on purpose.
The $12.95 price includes tax and shipping. Of course, we could say $9.95 plus tax, plus shipping and handling, and that would put us right back at $12.95, but we thought better to give you the out-the-door price up front.
We pay our authors. Not much, and certainly not what they deserve, but we know that art has value, and it deserves to be paid for.
Low print volume. Given that we are starting out, our print volumes are low. However, once our print volumes go up, the cost per magazine will go down, and we can lower prices. Of course, in a perfect world, someone would front us $20,000 to simply start with higher print volumes as we ramp up, but the money fairy seems to have not visited us yet.
In the way of good news, our $12.95/month price is the same price in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Australia, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy. No special international shipping price.
If you would like to sign up for the print+digital subscription, you can do so on our website.
