Syndication and Outreach Coordinator Intern (Hiring)

Summary:

The Syndication and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for expanding the reach and visibility of the literary magazine's content and its editor-in-chief. This involves identifying and securing syndication opportunities for published stories in other publications and platforms, as well as seeking out interview opportunities for the editor-in-chief to promote the magazine and its mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Syndication:

    • Research and identify potential syndication partners (other literary magazines, online platforms, newspapers, etc.) that align with the magazine's genre and target audience.

    • Pitch and negotiate syndication deals, ensuring fair compensation and proper attribution for the authors and the magazine.

    • Track and maintain records of syndication agreements and payments.

  • Outreach:

    • Proactively seek out interview opportunities for the editor-in-chief in relevant media outlets (print, online, radio, podcasts).

    • Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts and influencers in the literary community.

    • Prepare press materials (e.g., press releases, media kits) and talking points for interviews.

    • Coordinate and schedule interviews, ensuring a smooth and successful experience.

  • Additional:

    • Assist with promoting syndicated content and interviews through social media and other channels.

    • Maintain an up-to-date database of syndication partners and media contacts.

    • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in syndication and outreach.

    • Attend relevant industry events and conferences.

    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with After Dinner Conversation and its mission.

  • Experience in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or desire to learn.

  • Willingness to understand the literary landscape and syndication processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, Google Sheets

  • Passion for literature and promoting emerging voices.
